News – Updated Inspection Framework published

14th August 2024

HM Inspectorate of Prosecution in Scotland has today published an updated Inspection Framework. The framework has three overarching themes – direction, delivery and outcomes. The framework informs all our scrutiny activity and ensures a consistent, professional and transparent approach to our work. It is based on the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) Model, a globally recognised framework that supports organisations to manage change and improve performance. In recent years, the EFQM model has been updated and one of our tasks during the life of our Strategic Plan 2022-25 has been to review our own framework in light of developments in EFQM and ensure it continues to be fit for purpose. Publication of the framework helps those we inspect, stakeholders and the public know what to expect from us.
