News – Terms of Reference published for joint review of diversion from prosecution

30th March 2022

We have today published our Terms of Reference for our upcoming joint review of diversion from prosecution. In addition to IPS, the review will be carried out along with our scrutiny partners: HM Inspectorate of Constabulary in Scotland, the Care Inspectorate and HM Inspectorate of Prisons for Scotland. We will assess the operation and impact of diversion from prosecution, highlight what is working well and explore any barriers to the more effective use of diversion. For the full terms of reference please view our full Terms of Reference.
